Happy Sunday Everyone!
Over the last 2 years, a strong, Merry band of lunatic Rag arsed renegades have been Cruising to every point on our little blue Orb.. People from all over the world, Sailing in the 'Rim of Fire' , 'Antarctic Escape', 'Island Hoppers' and NY-SF Adventures.

We have a lot of Fun, Races within the Cruises, Wild adventures Ashore, Cameradie and Friendship...Often more Fun than the 'Official Races'

This is not an official Club. Everyone is Welcome Very Happy
The Antarctic Escape will be pushing off from Marseilles within the MC Challenge in a few days, starting with a race to maybe Gibraltar, or somewhere else (to be decided)
So if you want to join us, just turn up.... Very Happy

I will post a full list of our honourable members later. Wink

Hi Russ

Can you update your list of cruises with the name of the challenge being used - just to make it easier for people to find them and join up with the rest of the boats.

Barbara

Hi All happy Cruisers Very Happy
Now the FR is over and the Big Blue has turned into a 'Drift' rather than a race, Shall we think about kicking off somewhere sooner rather than later? Suggestions please,
I have my brand new (very expensive) Times Atlas at the ready. Wink
Put your thinking hats on...............

Laughing I was searching for my "thinking hat" to post a picture as a wee bit of humour Confused but found this instead. It is more intense than we are looking for here -- but none-the-less interesting in concept. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjVxSk1MqO4

They didn't list the "fun thinking hat" .... ie .. the thinking hat that directs the thought process towards a fun time. So I suggest the " fun thinking hat" is the 7th hat --- the polka dot hat !! But where to go next hmmmmm? I'm thinking -- really I am Russ....

The M-C races / cruise was good fun so lets keep the short races going in that for a start ... or in one of the other cruises. If we have a race going on in each cruise at the same time, I can see "burn out" coming at us. At least burn out in those of us (aka: me) who have little attention span ... or too busy a real world life.

Warmer climate destinations are always interesting; Racing around Ireland was one of my favorite races - maybe there is something there for us? And if we land near Lunnenburg by next spring in one cruise or another we could be on hand for the Bluenose launch !!

I agree Mike, the MC and NY-SF are fun to race in as we have fast boats. The others are pure cruising.......I'll sort something out for a start Tomorrow in the MC at the usual time, if that suits everyone? (I'll give Rome a kick up the arse to set off)

Round Ireland is always a good one, it is a matter of getting our boats there, maybe a series of races in/through the Med, up the Porto coast, Biscay and start from Ushant.......

Checked Peggy's cams, and see they have the same rubbish weather that I have here Sad

Good to see you Philip (Schakel) and Philippe (Golf)!!!!! Very Happy

Personally I do not like the look of the winds through the Islands Shocked But it's the same for all Very Happy

'Rome', our Commitee boat, (put him on your Friends list) goes ahead and lays the Gate Marks. At the moment he is struggling with bad winds. Rolling Eyes

Hopefully, the winds will be better when we get there.

Russ, Hallberg and Baldrick Cool

Announcemant of Shortening of Course

As the winds between are so bad between the Islands by 2100GMT , That gate has been cancelled. (it would not have been much fun, Trust me Rolling Eyes )

The Course is now Marseille, Direct to Algiers Via the fastest route you can find.

Go for the Co-ords given Previosly and I will post Exact Marks later....

45mins to the Start!
