Congrats to Olnala10 for her first pixel jump Smile

Paradise got a little behind the leaders and wondering what to do after the LS gate, to over the North or thou the South to the 3rd XG, I see diffirent stratgies.
2 Boats seems to sail North while 1 is going South.; so I guess, I will have to sort it out myself what is best for me. Very Happy

I think Paradise made a good choise by going South, following QM II , as the distance to the other northern leaders has decreased.
lets see when all boats sail south of the next island.

Am I the only boat that followed the RD correctly? (picture shows to leave the last island to port)

I do not see any error, I follow the gates too …
Let's wait after Paradise comments ..

But if you speak about small rocks, they are not considered as part of big islands .. see the notes with race announcement

Hi

some discussion on the route. the AFR instructions do mention only gates to be passed , the AFR gates with indication of direction and the LS gate to be validated to get the race officially finished .
there is no mention of keeping an island on port side, and the yellow lines are only to assist the undestanding of the route. Each gate can be validated by dipping , which QM II and Paradise did with the XG#3.

I see no problems with any boats, except that TTR missed the Finish

ANNOUNCEMENT: ALTERNATIVE FRIDAY RACE (AFR)

Sorry for the late submission of today's new AFR

This week, we sail a kind of jo-jo course along the Japanese coast due to the FR gates Rolling Eyes , and I cannot offer another challege for this AFR. Smile

We will use this FR for our next AFR FR-S20-15 Japan

START: Monday 15 July 2019, 1200 GMT sharp Very Happy

We will use FR-S20-15

- Sail to and validate all the LS gates .

- Validate the AFR and LS Finish ;

Fair winds Smile

coord: S°'" - W°'"
Notes:
- make sure to validate all Gates and the Finish in the official LiveSkipper FR on top of that the Gates and Marks of the AFR extra challenges.
- for newbies: make sure we, the ASailors, do know you are participating, best in this topic.
- we as Alternative Sailors will only sail the passionate way, so Passion category Boats are accepted only
-the image with coordinates, yellow lines/arrows are a guidance only, the typed coordinates under the image establish the exact location of marks and gates.
-tiny islands alongside large island are not considered to be part of the big island; you may sail in between unless specifically described not to.
-pixel jumping is allowed, it is even appreciated with a bonus of 10 minutes upon announcing or proof of the pixel-jump. Rolling Eyes You have to claim it yourself Exclamation
- dipping of an Extra Gate, or 'touch and go' of an Extra Gate, is allowed, provided you pass the gate-line; dipping of an Extra Mark is NOT allowed.
-take care for a starting time not ahead of the starting shot, for auto-start in on-going races see the wiki or tutorial.

Attention Ard.. sorry fella, your links for this weeks AFR , are for S-20-14 Samoa, not 15 Japan.

I'm in this week, as my Friday attempt ended on a shoreline unable to get game access.

This ARF attempt may end the same way without game access for 6 hours later today, but we will see.... if you see me on a beach in Japan, just wave Cool
