ANNOUNCEMENT: ALTERNATIVE FRIDAY RACE (AFR)

This week, we sail an AFR, based on the Last Friday race, sad but it will not be the last AFR D Smile Question

We will use this FR for our next AFR FR-S20-24 Last Friday
We will use this FR , but make it more challenging with 1 Xtra Mark Very Happy, inside the neighbouring fjord Smile Wink

START: Monday 16 September 2019, 1200 GMT sharp Very Happy

We will use FR-S20-24

- Sail to and validate the LS gate #1 in the Reyjhavik fjord.

- Sail to the Xtra Mark XM#1 and pass this keeping the Grundarfjorour Mark on your Port side .
coord: N65°08'00" - W23°45'00"

- Validate the AFR and LS Finish ;

Fair winds Smile

Notes:
- make sure to validate all Gates and the Finish in the official LiveSkipper FR on top of that the Gates and Marks of the AFR extra challenges.
- for newbies: make sure we, the ASailors, do know you are participating, best in this topic.
- we as Alternative Sailors will only sail the passionate way, so Passion category Boats are accepted only
-the image with coordinates, yellow lines/arrows are a guidance only, the typed coordinates under the image establish the exact location of marks and gates.
-tiny islands alongside large island are not considered to be part of the big island; you may sail in between unless specifically described not to.
-pixel jumping is allowed, it is even appreciated with a bonus of 10 minutes upon announcing or proof of the pixel-jump. Rolling Eyes You have to claim it yourself Exclamation
- dipping of an Extra Gate, or 'touch and go' of an Extra Gate, is allowed, provided you pass the gate-line; [b]dipping of an Extra Mark is NOT allowed.

-take care for a starting time not ahead of the starting shot, for auto-start in on-going races see the wiki or tutorial.

And we keep sailing on the Monday Smile

WARNING

START AFR

in about ONE HOUR

This AFR is based on the Last Friday race, but do not fear we will continue till the end so this is not the last AFR Very Happy Wink,. maybe the penultimate AFR but not sure on that either. Confused

wll see

fair winds and safe sailing

and for the further future, you will see me sailing in regattagame (rg) where I will continue with the Boat Paradise.
Just last week regattagame, made an upgrade, it is still a little rough on the edges but a huge improvement on their previous version. Try it out if you haven't done already. Exclamation Questions on rg
you can put here and I try to answer , or use the Forum in rg, that also has an Englsh language section.

Edit:
started already and a nice fleet
QM II
Hallberg
Paradise
highnoon
TTR AZCF
Seletarstar a little late start
The Wasp a late start

Found another boat Farfalla , that has announce to me PM to sail the AFR. with us.

Sailing nicely tothe gate now ….
But I see that the XM will be passed during the night ! Very Happy Shocked Shocked
Hard work, lets see this evening how we can reach this XM avoiding any rock !

@ Paradise :
RG I have one boat …. same name …. I tried several times since two years, but found difficult the strategy and the way to place the points …

However, I am aware of new interface, not yet tested …. I will see in October …

I am so sad that LS stops that my motivation is extremly low for the moment …. may be I will do a small break early October ….

I have tried RG , but not enough time. Too busy with LS with multiple races; so i will go back to RG after.

The wind is interesting in this current AFR. There may also be some extra boats following, Urxamur, le dauphinois, tchoa860, benvenuto 11 ?
