Hi all, I hear that soon the last racers will set off and i have the following 4 questions.

1:/ Is there going to be a new race soon ?
2:/ Or when is the start of the next race ?
3:/ If there is a new race where will it go from and to ?
4:/ And will a notice of race be sent to all past racers so we can all start at the same time ?

This game is fantastically addictive well done to the writers, programmers and everyone else involved.
On reading this please reply and thank all the people involved
We should get at laest 7000 replies Cool

1) A permanent record-type challenge will be set up soon.
2) The next real race is the "TRANSAT 2008".
3) Don't know yet... ( Start and finish places and datums for the Transat 2008 will be defined 1 may 2008 )
4) We'll think about a simple system...

I think that a permanent record-type race would be great. However, it should have staggered start times, not continuous starts like this race. Staggered starts (e.g., every 3 to 5 days) would provide boat to boat competition, with identical starting times and locations. I would also propose that by default, the race viewer would only show a skipper's starting group, and there are options to show other groups (in a different color maybe), a friends list, and (importantly) the option to hide all other boats.

I think the race "engine" on this game is very good, and with a few key features (they've all been mentioned), it would be a wonderful ongoing game.

Thanks, and have a great day!

All races need a start time.
If you start to pick weather paterns, all boats would start when conditions suite.

Have a GUN and if you're late too bad !!!!
Fair for all starters.

Now that we are all aware of this "BeTomorrow" race site, we shold be
notified of future events.

Must thankBeTomorrow crew and the SS's for providing/supporting this race and hopefully more to come.

THANKS.
I will have to get back to WORK so hurry up.
An Imaginary race will do !

Some record races have no specific start time. Like the "Trophé Jules Vernes" where Frank cammas on groupama 3 broke the boat yesterday.
You can wait the weather you like to start, the race is allways open...

Other races have a specific start time. If you're late, you have to sail faster to get first...

great reply and i agree with what you say and because this race was a start when you like type race we should be putting the time taken to complete the race and not just the finished postion.
Also for those starting late at the Canary Isles there times need to be shown ( which could be shown with a * showing it started at the Canarys)
at least that way we know how well Smile or how bad Sad we did

No, this race has had a specific start day and time...

The real race has a limited opened start line for 48h after start of the first boat. But, this was impossible to achiev for a virtual race, a game...

So, ( like in the real race ) the ranking is counted as if you have started on the right time...

But, I agree, the sailing time should be shown in the ranking... Just as an information...
