They didn't in the BWR viewer either ! Obviously desperate to pull away from me, given todays rapid de-acceleration it shouldn't be too hard !!

He's not moving. Did he get stuck on the anchor line of the gate? |

Be interesting to see what's happening here. It may be that they've just projected their course from last reported position and course.
Reminds me of something that happened to some friends of mine on a SC50 in a Transpac Race (I think it was '87). It was before GPS. They were using SatNav and the Navigator had left it set on D/R. He didn't realize he was not reading fixes, but simply a projected course. They were reporting astounding positions every morning for days. It seemed they were outrunning Merlin and the other big boats. By the time they realized their error they were nearly south of the big island and had to crawl up the coasts of Hawaii, Maui, and Molokai. |

The other official competitors didn't crossed the gate as well....
there might be a problem with live skipper's coordinate system.
I don't think that sailors who are away for 3 month's risking any penalty by not crossing an Gate... you ??
in earlier posted messages i noticed that someone had a problem with google earth, regarding the coordinates, maybe google earth is right but live skipper is shifted a bit to the west. maybe this is the reason why we all hit land area where there wasn't ( Gibraltar area etc..)
might be a good idea that the designers from this game look into this issue.
Best,
