We've lost the official ranking from LS it seems, but I can still publish mine. It assumes we're going over the top of Madagascar so those going below will be disadvantaged at least on this one. I'll try and correct this drawback before the next issue.

Glenn (Kingfisher 829) has pulled the pin, I'm not sure why since he was well placed I thought. All EF boats going over the top have rounded the cape. The two going around the bottom have yet to go around.

PO & Jonny m have now rounded the bottom of Madagascar, everyone is aiming directly at the finish line!

Those guys who went south of Madagascar had really no chance, due to huge difference in millage at present winds.
I was a bit surprised as there were 4 good sailors in that group.
From our northern group I did not expect Banquise do such a mistake while approaching top of Madagascar. She went more north to cover an other excellent sailor USS Jarr and that was his huge mistake as she lost contact with the guys on top.

The EF podium is:

1st Vanna 3d00h40m34s
2nd Jimbeam 3d00h59m55s
3rd Bongobrain 3d01h34m10s

Since I can't get the ranking page working, neither in French nor in English mode, I had to resort to the <markers> to estimate the finish time.

Me too can not access to ranking neither to instruction.
I found out that by clearing the browsing data I could access to both for short time.

mutley 192 LSYC did the darndest thing today. He was approaching the finish line and less than 10 miles from the finish, he suddenly turned and put himself in irons. 0 knots. At this rate the race will never finish! Shocked

I was puzzled by the headings of mutley and TOBOGEE, but now I understand that the problem was caused by the new NOAA wind update which caused the winds to be updated out of the normal update sequence. I'm lucky to have finished the race before it happened Smile

It does not alter the ranking order but it certainly added several hours to the elapsed time for mutley, TOBOGEE, and PO.

On the plus side, the new NOAA model is supposed to be more accurate.

Note: On the couple of times when I managed to access the ranking page, I noticed that my finishing times differ by a few seconds from LS. There are 2 reasons for that:

1) My finishing line and LS's differ because at the time I could not access the race instructions and I obtained the coordinates by measuring both ends with the mouse, it seems my line is slightly further south (by a few metres only) than LS's and it takes a wee bit longer to reach mine.

2) I use the <marker> file for data. LS generates a marker every 10 minutes for each player. If I am at my screen, I save those markers, but if I'm away and download LS's database, I note that some markers have been deleted to save space on the servers. In this case an additional error occurs.
