Hey Chris
of all improvements, I think boat polars is most important. As you know, if you're not awake and miss a 1 deg shift, the TWA goes from 129 to 130 (or 139 to 140) and your boat loses 4 knots of speed.

Of course, those of us who don't wake up at night do set a conservative course before hitting bed, but in shifty conditions it makes it difficult to keep up with the leaders.

If BeTomorrow have a little additional time to add one quick other thing : can someone add a simple line "last weather update : 0600 UTC, GRIB file 0300 UTC". This would be a tremendous help to figure which wind forecast we're sailing in.

Again, I do think more realistic polars for the last part of the race (after Cape Horn gate) would be great and definitely the most useful fix.

Thanks for the hard work, Chris.

An autopilot would solve that problem easier.

I vote autopilot!

I will let the poll run through Newyear, there is no one to do the work at BeTomorrow until mid next week anyway

Cheers

aye, Autopilot would be a great addition as well, but compared to other virrtual routing games, I think LS misses the point in terms of how close to reality these boats perform.

fixing polars would resolve both issues methinks ! Wink

Don't forget that there are people already using "illegal" autopilots!!!
Are we expected to compete against these cheats for another 2 weeks?

Please Chris,
What are you waiting for!!!!?????
Confused

Nilguiri,

as far as I understand, the staff of BeTomorrow is absent, so nobody can do anything. We have to wait. But I think, that is ok, when things change in manageable time.

On the second, the firm's name is BE TOMORROW, not DONE TODAY, what should be a programm... Cool

Third: Against "illegal" autopilots, as you call them, nobody can help. Let they do their own race.

Cheers,
RAMASEE

So, we have something similar to a doping scandal, just like the cheats who take steroids and compete against legal athletes.

This is not right! Evil or Very Mad
Am I the only one that thinks this sucks !!?!?!?

Nilguiri,

on illegal behaviour, we could have a philosophical dialogue ... I bet, its result would not prevent illegal practices. You see it ref. doping. If you know a recipe that works, you could be a billionär not to say : master of the universe!

And: How to judge "illegal" autopilots in a game? How to punish? Throw them out? Set them back? In a game without rules hereover?

And you are right: "illegal" doing sucks. Our consolation shall be: They punish themselves because they do not have real fun.

Cheers,
RAMASEE

Illegal is a BIG word...

The polars are then also Illegal, just as the Deckman...

What I absolutely don't like to the autopilot of "auto" is that the guy asks 15€ to get it...
Every other tool was given FREE... I've sent the polars a 100times FREE
I'm even not sure it works well!!! And, in case of, you'll never see your money back...

That's what anger me that much about this autopilot...

You're right of course!

No need to punish anybody... just implement an autopilot that we can all use and make the field even as soon as possible.
In my opinion, It would be an obvious priority to ask the programmers to do when they come back from their well-earned holiday now that people are making money and cheating at others' expense.
I could probably write my own autopilot if I put my mind to it, but it hasn't even occurred to me until today! If I did, I would post it for free for all to use, or maybe I would put a virus in it and sell it for €15. Wink

We have talked about all of these things many times, now we are having a poll running until next year!! Patience!

That's why I used "" .. OK choose another word ..

Thierry happily shared his polars with everybody, as does deckman.
From the start this game was free for everybody.

I don't think one of us was fool enough to pay for that autocrash system.

I wish they use it and have a 180° shift...
