Hiya all,
Just decided to come back into the fleet with a large can of WD40 to loosen off all winches and capstan after I have been laid up for so long. Good to see all the usual suspects are still propping up the club bar.
That round was on me for old times sake and this one is for St Andrew for all the scots exiles

Welcome back. Thanks for the round.
What a pity you missed the ghost race. |

Happy to see you back, Marie Céleste, and many thanks for the round .
May I say I considered your momentary disappearance as a very normal phenomenon for a ghost boat, and your coming back was due to take place soon or later .
Welcome for new adventures |

Hi all, We have boats lying dormant all over the Globe in various cruises/challenges.
Island hoppers, etc. It's about time we kicked something off....(the B2B is boring me to bloody tears) Any idea's? |

I agree with you on BtoB, I would rather have returned to a good Friday race but, I presume the season is closed. Foxake and I are meandering around the NW Pacific so will be a good while linking up with everyone else who seem to be half a world away, so give us a clue which heading to take and we will both love to go exploring this planet before we all head off to Vesper 22 or whatever it's called .....600 years there and 600 years back, lots of water there to sail on . I wonder if Richard Branson will do day returns |

I had been thinking about heading back down to, and up, the Amazon again with the Island Hoppers tour, since we are never going to get the damn Panama Canal opened...
Is there any interest in heading that way from anyone? Or is it too much tight quarters up and down rivers? |

Good idea - I have missed the Amazon on all my recent passes and it should give plenty of info about the WP gremlins.
It will probably take me a few weeks to get down there from C America. |

If you want to get an idea of most of the passable channels in the Amazon, click on my boat in the Privateers and take a look at the path I took last year....
It is now marked as a "historical area" since it is where I first stumbled upon the ancient art of pixel-jumping
Stands to reason that it would be found up the Amazon River where all kinds of things are hiding |

An idea for the new year.
Choosing one of the shorter / quicker challenges, a club race which only allows the use of auto sail and green waypoints.
You could say, the worst of the worst, as an experiment to discover just how much of a handicap is offered by 'average' sail and lost time. |

Ino just announced no FR's for 2 wks.. maybe we could slot it in instead.
Invite other clubs? Set the boat up on Greens and not allowed to touch or adjust it?
Maybe the M-C challenge? |

January would be good for me.
If we 'set it and leave it' then, to make it even for those who are members v those who are not, limit to only 4 marks for everyone. |

Gets better and better, only 4 Wp's! I thought you were away in January? |

Only the early part - the bit that requires lots of trips to the pub and wine cellar while ensuring a constant supply of food and good company. Hehe - I will be having fun while you recover from Xmas. |
