tsunami wrote: It is most important to get as many club boats as possible into the top 200. Coming in the top 5 is just an extra sweetener.
why?
To succeed the club must not only get 5 boats as high as possible to minimise the score, it must also get as many other boats before the top 5 of the other clubs to increase the points they get.
Just think of the difference in points scored if the first boats are in the top 10 compared with first boats between 10 and 20th position. |

| I see what you mean now,but at the moment I`m thinking more on Russ es post.Fri race is becoming a boring maths class. |

During the FR I have a few friends' boats visible. For judging how I am doing I only use friends' positions and the club ranking ... and smile sweetly to myself when I move up a place.
My goal is to be ahead of friends (not always possible) and in the top 7 within the club so anything better than that is very sweet.
With so many hundreds of people sailing these races from different time zones I do not count most of the other skippers in short races.
And I leave others to work out the maths. |

G'day all Members.
Long overdue may it be, but Sunshine1 has joined our Elite band of Rogues.
We all know the rules... New Members have to stand a nights Bar tab for the rest
We can, no doubt expect workshops in Crab slapping and Barbie's.. Arguements about Cricket (or 'Trickit' as the Pakistan team call it)
Raise your Schooners and Welcome Col. |
