Hallo LSYC clubbers Laughing

This post is made for use during the Privateer's Route Race Edition.
It will get a link to the progress stats report which I am thinking off to update on a daily bases.
And I hope the our LSYC skippers make some posts during the race.

For some strategy talks, where we do not want the other teams to listen in , we can use the LSYC chatroom. However this chatroom is sometimes wiped clean Rolling Eyes
I could open a document in the cloud, where all skippers can contribute Question what you think Question

Hi Ard, The Doc idea is better, as long as Everyome READS IT!
Shared Strategy will be very important to maximize the potential of every boat. We all sail individually, but also for the greater Good! Let's face it, we have a handful of some of the best Skippers in LS and then the likes of me, who can only use Beta for Scheduling overnight...The rest just totally confuses me Confused
So we have to pull together, That's what clubs do, it's a team effort.
7 days to prepare, Battle Flag needs to be created!

Perhaps the club organisers can clear up my confusion.

Reading posts it seems to me that to sail in a club one must also be in a club. As far as I know I am in a club for the races but not actually in any club on the LS site system, being only an honorary member to make up numbers, so to speak. Does this mean I am in or out and, if out, what gets me in?

Hi Sowslo, The 'creator' needs to Register the club name.becomes Club manager..... He/She needs to be an LS member to do this. Then Via the Club feature he invites the nominated Skippers to join. The Skippers then click to accept the invitation......It just needs someone to be organised/bothered! Speak to your Team leader.

Thanks, that confirms what I thought I had read but was not too sure how it all tied together. At least there are a few days to still get everything sorted. Smile

Hallo Sowslo Very Happy
The club phenomena is explained by Russ above and in this topic http://www.liveskipper.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4731
some information on LS membership http://www.liveskipper.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4825

If you are looking for a Club for coming club race on 27th November, then I know that CFORC with Manager Mike o/b basto1 is still looking for enforcement of his club. He is a Scot with plenty of good quality Whisky to lure new club-members and to celebrate with Laughing Laughing Laughing

Hallo LSYC clubbers

For the SPECIAL event of the CLUB RACE we have a Race Bungee for the participating LSYC boats.

You can see it already in the avatar of phil. Laughing

thanks phil for your fantastic contribution in making this.

Before the Race start I will put this bungee also up for the official club avatar. This will cause also the club avatar to change in the pop-up window , when you click on your boat. This will happen in all races and challenges that you are sailing in. Smile

If you want to use this LSYC Race Bungee for a personal avatar, the LSYC club members are free to do so. It is appreciated that non-LSYC club-members are not using this avatar.

for convenience I have posted this in Imageshack

A slight variation that shows up better when you shrink it down to the maximum 80 pixels

I am happy with whatever everyone wants to use, if you like something like this it would be easy to create one with each boat name on it, or maybe just add "Privateer's Route" or some such. The text does get hard to read when that small though

That's the Problem..When my Son and I were knocking up the Club Burgee, we tried many different (ambitious) versions, but then when you knock them down to 80 Pix they don't work well...
I like the Bulldog, not sure about the wavy LSYC....
This is our 'Battle Flag' rather than a new Burgee...I will use it in Club races only and then will revert to the Original....

Email me your suggestions, and I'll mess with the "Bulldog" tomorrow.
