Phillipe thanks for the clear image of the Finish in Itajai.
that we cannot miss
for bringing your boat along, I can give it a try, but cannot promise to keep her in the lead
just PM me the details and hand me the keys and if you had a plan in mind, you may as well PM and I will follow.
Winds are nice now and Cape Horn comes maybe for a fools day passing
It looks like Blackcat..loco.. has moored in the port of Puerto Montt , maybe she has damage and needs repairs Anyway a good possibility for us to catch up. |

so today the first of our 9Pack boats will pass the Cape Horn gate.
1) GolfAiguillons82 around 0100 gmt
2) Verrazano passed with 2:20 update
3) Tsunami passed with 2:20 update (but measure from my boat about 2 min, 0.9 Nm behind 2nd placed.)
4) Misterqu passed with the 03:50 update
5) Paradijs passed already in the 04:20 update
6) Periplo passed just at the 0600gmt update
7) Sowslo passed at 08:10 update
Ezile Bay passed at 09:20 update
9) Mastererillo passed at 14:20 update
for following boats passing Cape Horn, please record the time yourselves as I can not perform that for the next so many hours
to continue the sighting of boats passing Cape Horn
10)BZHPeo before 0000gmt on 2nd april passed the cape
11)Blackcat..loco.. before 0000gmt. after making a turn passed the gate line correctly
12)Rome passed cape horn at 02:20 gmt
13) Propuh passed the Cape Horn gate, must have been somewhere around 07:00 gmt.
WARNING for ROTloloha , your boat is visiting a rough rock
continue reporting 3april
14) ROTloloha passed the Gate Cape Horn at 02:50 gmt.
All boats on final leg now.
and I see Blackcat..loco.. sailed the strait of Maghelhaen A beautiful narrow to sail , I have to admit, but in doing so missed the Cape Horn Gate But I see that now she is sailing SE, maybe still coming to see all boats of our fleet pass the gate before start sailing again. |

hello Philippe
As Russ : " I would volunteer, but as you can see, my position with 'Peo' shows that I would not be your best bet "

Contrary to the Real VOR race, it is becoming very exciting and close racing for the sailors in our 9 Pack Serie .
There are 4 boats close and 2 more a little farther to leeward in better winds, a 30Nm spread only . So I guess we have still 6 candidates for the podium in Itajai. I clock it for just over 2 days sailing, for the present wind forecast that is.
I see a welcome committee on board Nuts2yer coming towards us to cheer ur for the last day or so
Sail on , Fair winds and don't over stress your mast or hull, such that we all can sail safely into Itajai for a flashing Brazilian party |

Sure it is not the disappearing friend gremlin? I am not in that race at the moment so can't check.
All I know about this race is that each time I check in the winds are sending my marks to the south-west. Staying heading north is needing lots of course changes. |

Oh dear, what a forecast update. No problem heading north now. The question is, how do I get back west? |

Ahh now I udnerstand, that gremlin shifting Sowslo's marks but also shifting my mark to the West.
I find myself too much west , and fear that I have lost the podium by now.
Anyway LS promise me a finish today, that is in gmt terms So lets see how it works out, as Sowslo still have to sail west , what I by mistake did already |

Hi 9packers
tonight will be the deciding moment for the Podium places.
I am setting my boat for the beaching at Itajai , behind the Finish line,
for ease I copy the image from Phillipe to help finding the right beach .
Finish Line (Itajai) :
- Position buoy F1 : 26°55'46"S / 48°37'37"W
- Position buoy F2 : 26°49'30"S / 48°36'15"W
it is a little tricky beach , yes it is.
So I hope someone is around to observe and record the finishing order and I will see it tomorrow
fair winds, |
