By Default all checks are on. If you consider this too many boat in the Game, you can un-check some or all of the boats, which will empty the screen.
This will allow to view some details at your mouse location
This allows to switch between Beginner and Advanced Mode. Please be aware that while switching from Advanced to Beginner Mode, you will loose all features that are not supported by the Beginner Mode.
This Reload icon activates a refresh of the game sailing progress data, without leaving the game.
It will actualize the wind forecast and refresh the weather grib file

Provides access to the Friends Window to Manage your Friends.

Provides access to the Window that shows the Polar Diagram for your Boat with current settings for heading and sail, the type of Boat and it shows your boat's performance with the wind conditions at current location.

This button will enable or disable full window view. Full window mode, the game fills the entire display area of the browser.
On some browsers (Chrome, Firefox), the F11 key will switch the browser to full screen mode. Using the full window mode under these conditions, the playing area occupies most of the screen.
Full window mode allows you to stretch the playing area on several screens at once if the computer allows.

The two buttons (+) and (-) can increase or decrease the zoom level of the map. The zoom level can also be controlled using the mouse wheel; some call this also virtual binocular.
